Section 106 Compliance

Island Pond Library, Island Pond, Essex County, VT. Plans for the proposed expansion of the Island Pond Library, which included alterations to the façade and creation of a handicap ramp, were reviewed for compliance with the Standards of the Secretary of the Interior. Alterations to the design were worked out with the architect to bring the design proposal into line with the Standards.

Schenectady Gazette Building, Schenectady, Schenectady County, NY. The proposed reuse of this structure as a component of a transportation museum provided the impetus to examine the Gazette building for possible constraints required by Section 106 compliance for its renovation. A report was completed which detailed the character-defining features of this National Register eligible building and made recommendations respecting its renovation.

Taylor Park, St. Albans, Franklin County, VT. Plans to install a permeable sidewalk along the west side of this park, a contributing component of the St. Albans Historic District, triggered a Section 106 review of the proposed project. Components included review of the design of the sidewalk, associated benches, street lighting and plantings.
